What we publish

Little Bees publishes a page for every early years setting in England that is open on Ofsted's register — around 27,000 of them. What a page says depends on what Ofsted has published:

• a setting inspected under the report card framework Ofsted introduced in November 2025 shows the grade Ofsted gave in each inspected area;
• a setting whose most recent inspection used the earlier framework shows the single overall rating Ofsted gave, with the date it was given stated beside it;
• a setting Ofsted has not yet inspected says so, with its registration date.

Each page shows information taken from Ofsted's own register and reports, and nothing else:

• the setting's registered name and trading name, town, county, postcode and local authority;
• its setting type, registers, age range, registered places and registration date;
• the date of its most recent inspection and the outcome Ofsted published;
• earlier inspection dates and outcomes, where Ofsted has published them.

The information is reproduced under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Little Bees is not affiliated with Ofsted, and the plain-English descriptions of what each grade means are ours.

What we do not publish

• The names of the registered person, the nominated individual, directors or any member of staff.
• Email addresses, telephone numbers or social media accounts, whether or not they appear on Ofsted's register.
• Any judgement of our own about a setting's compliance, quality or safety. We show Ofsted's outcomes and we do not add to them.
• Inspection report text. We link to the report on Ofsted's site rather than reproducing it.

Settings that are closed or resigned from the register do not have a page. A page for a setting not yet inspected is not offered to search engines until an inspection is published.

If something is wrong

Every page carries a Report a problem with this page form. If you run or work at a setting and something on its page is wrong or out of date, use it and tell us what is wrong. We will check the record against Ofsted's register and correct our copy, or explain why the page shows what it does.

Because the information is Ofsted's, a correction to the underlying record — a change of name, address or registration — has to be made with Ofsted. Once Ofsted's register changes, our copy follows on its next refresh, usually within a week.

If you want the page removed

You can ask for a setting's page to be removed using the same form and choosing Remove this page. You do not have to give a reason, though it helps us to know if the information is inaccurate.

When a page is removed:

• it stops being served and answers search engines with a permanent "gone" status, which is the fastest way to have it dropped from results;
• it is removed from our sitemaps and from the local authority and regional listings on the same day, and any badge the setting had embedded elsewhere stops showing anything about it;
• the removal is recorded with the date, the reason given and who at Little Bees actioned it, and it stays removed. A routine refresh of Ofsted's data never republishes a removed page.

Removal takes the page down. It does not remove the setting from Ofsted's public register, which is not ours.

Claiming a page

The person who runs a setting can claim its page from the link on it. Claiming gives them a Little Bees account showing every inspection Ofsted has published for the setting, and a badge they can put on their own website. It does not change what the public page says: that stays Ofsted's record.

How quickly we respond

You will receive an acknowledgement by email when your request arrives. We aim to action requests within five working days, and in every case within one calendar month, which is the period data protection law allows for an objection to processing. You will receive a second email when the request has been actioned, saying what was done.

Who to contact

Requests through the form on the page reach the people who can act on them directly. If you would rather write, email [email protected] with the setting's Ofsted URN — the number at the end of the page's address — and we will treat it in the same way and on the same timescale.
